The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has valued the unity shown by the Atlantic Alliance since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, and has guaranteed support for Kiev “for as long as it is necessary.”
During an appearance at the end of the NATO summit in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius, Biden stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin opted in February 2022 to promote a conflict that he believed would divide the alliance.
