The president also praised the vice president Kamala Harriswhom he formally endorsed last Sunday. “I have made my choice. I have made my views known. Now the choice is up to you, the American people: you make that choice,” Biden said, confirming that Harris has quickly established herself as the virtual Democratic nominee.

In his speech, Biden also highlighted his administration’s accomplishments since taking office in 2021, emphasizing the country’s recovery from the pandemic, the economic crisis, and recent attacks on the nation. “Today we have the strongest economy in the world and we created nearly 16 million new jobs, a record. Wages are up, inflation continues to fall, the racial wealth gap is the lowest it has been in 20 years. We are literally rebuilding our entire nation,” he noted.

Looking ahead to his final six months in office, Biden outlined his priorities, focusing on defending voting rights, the right to choose, and denouncing hate extremism. “The next six months I will focus on doing my job as president,” he concluded.
