Israeli Troops Entered Al Shifa Hospital With Limited Troops, Says US President Joe Biden

President Joe Biden has stated that Israel entered Al Shifa hospital in Gaza with a limited number of troops carrying guns. Israel said that the hospital was a chief objective in its campaign to destroy Palestinian Hamas militants. The Israeli troops spent a day deepening their search in the largest hospital in Gaza where they claimed to have found automatic weapons, grenades, ammunition, and flak jackets.

Biden also said that Hamas was committing war crimes by having its military headquarters under the hospital. He emphasized the need for Israel to be extremely careful during the hospital raid. Biden further stated that the only way to resolve the Israel-Palestinian conflict is through a two-state solution and occupying Gaza would be a big mistake.

Iran’s supreme leader informed Hamas that Tehran would not directly intervene. Iran committed to providing Hamas political and moral support but would not enter the war.

The increasing conflict between Israel and Hamas has resulted in a severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Thousands of Palestinians have been confirmed killed, and around two-thirds of the population is now homeless. A fuel truck carrying diesel fuel was permitted to enter Gaza for UN aid distribution trucks, but it will do little to alleviate the shortages that have hampered relief operations.

The United Nations Security Council has called for urgent and extended humanitarian pauses in fighting and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages held by Hamas.

Israel has so far rejected calls for a ceasefire, stating that it would benefit Hamas. However, negotiations for a three-day truce are being discussed, mediated by Qatar to release some hostages taken in the Oct. 7 attack.

The situation continues to escalate, and there is an urgent need for a peaceful resolution to prevent further casualties and alleviate the suffering of the people in Gaza.
