Biden simply explained to Putin why he called him a “killer”

The scandalous statements of US President Joe Biden against his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin became one of the topics of discussion between the leaders of the two countries during telephone conversations. This is reported by Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa in their book “Peril”.

The authors claim that during a conversation on April 13, Putin told Biden the following: “I am disappointed that you called me a murderer.”

Biden, as journalists write, replied to this that it happened “unintentionally.”

“I was asked a question. I gave the answer. The interview was on a completely different topic,” the authors of the book quote Biden.

Biden made a resonant statement in an interview with ABC News on March 16. The interviewer asked the guest: “Do you think he (Putin) is a murderer?” Biden replied: “Uh-huh. I think. You will see that Putin will pay …” Putin himself later stated that he was not worried about the labels and that over the years he was used to any attacks from all sides.

Biden, on the other hand, was reminded of this moment more than once. So, during a press conference of the American leader on the eve of his face-to-face meeting with the Russian president in Geneva, journalists again asked for comment, saying that Putin had earlier laughed when he heard the accusations against him.

“I’m laughing too,” Biden replied.

Later, Putin reported that he had another telephone conversation with a colleague and that he gave his explanations about the situation. “These explanations suited me,” Putin added, without specifying when the conversation took place. Perhaps it was just about that April conversation, which the Washington Post reporters refer to.
