The president of United States, Joe Bidenbegan using a sleep apnea machine in recent weeks, the White House reported Wednesday.

The White House revealed that information after Biden appeared before the press on Wednesday morning with marks on both sides of his face.

The journalists asked the White House about those marks and one of the spokesmen for the presidential mansion, Andrew Bates, explained that the marks were due to the fact that Biden had used a continuous pressure machine in the respiratory tract the night before (CPAP mask, for its acronym in English) for the sleep apnea that you suffer.

In addition, another White House official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to provide details about the president’s health, explained that Biden had begun using the machine in recent weeks, in an attempt to improve the quality of his sleep.

At 80, Biden is the oldest president in US history.

Biden revealed that he suffered from sleep apnea in 2008 when he served as vice president with Barack Obama (2009-2017). However, his personal doctor did not mention the condition in any of the reports he released in 2021 and 2023.

In 2019, as he was preparing for the 2020 presidential election, Biden’s doctor revealed in another report that he had undergone multiple nasal passage surgeries.
