Amid criticism for his lackluster performance in the first debate of the race for the White House, the president Joe Biden He will travel in the next few days to the states of Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, key to guaranteeing his victory against Donald Trump (2017-2021) in the November elections.

Meanwhile, his campaign team announced on Friday through a statement the launch of an “aggressive and targeted” campaign to reach voters in “battleground states that will decide this election.”

This weekend, Biden will travel to Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, United States, which are part of the so-called ‘blue wall’ of the United States – which also includes Michigan -, states that since 1992, with the exception of 2016, have voted Democrat.

According to the campaign, the Democratic Party has raised a record $127 million in June, a lead they will leverage for “new efforts in organizing and mobilizing critics, new strategic efforts in paid media, and an aggressive travel schedule led by President Biden.”

Among other things, a $50 million paid media campaign will be launched targeting “key, high-impact moments that will attract a broad and diverse audience,” such as the Olympic Games.

At the Republican National Convention, where Trump is expected to accept the nomination in two weeks in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Democrats will also be in town to confront “MAGA hate and extremism.”

Biden will also continue to do interviews, the campaign said, including one that will air tonight with journalist George Stephanopoulos and will be broadcast on ABC.

Following this weekend’s trip to Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, President Biden will return to Washington for next week’s NATO summit.

He is scheduled to deliver a keynote address and participate in a news conference. As soon as the summit concludes, he will return to the campaign trail with a tour of the Southwest focused on engaging black and Latino voters.

During yesterday’s Fourth of July Independence Day celebrations, Biden responded to those calling for him to stay in the race with a resounding “I’m not going anywhere.”

The president held a barbecue in the gardens of the White House to celebrate Independence Day and when he was told by supporters “keep fighting. We need you” he replied: “Trust me. I’m not going anywhere.”

The president has been answering questions privately and publicly for several days about whether will he be able to face a second term at 81 years old and if he is in a position to beat Trump.

His poor performance in last week’s debate with Trump sparked speculation that he should be replaced before the Democratic convention in August.

Biden admitted in a meeting with Democratic governors at the White House on Wednesday that he needs to sleep more and will avoid organizing events after 8:00 p.m., according to several US media outlets.
