U.S. President Joe Biden said on the 15th (local time) regarding Senator JD Vance, former President Donald Trump’s vice presidential nominee, that he is a “clone of Trump.”

According to AFP, President Biden met with reporters before boarding his plane to Nevada on that day and when asked about the matter, he said, “On some issues, (Congressman Vance) is a clone of Trump,” and added, “I don’t see any difference between them.”

On the first day of the Republican National Convention, former President Trump announced through his social media ‘TruthSocial’ that he had decided on Rep. Vance as his running mate and vice presidential candidate.

“After much deliberation and consideration, and considering the tremendous talents of many others, I have decided that Senator Vance is the best person to serve as President of the United States,” he said.

Senator Vance, 39, served in the Marine Corps for five years, graduated at the top of his class from Ohio State University in two years, and then attended Yale Law School.

Former President Trump introduced Senator Vance as having served as editor-in-chief of the Yale Law Journal and president of the Yale Law School Veterans Association while attending Yale Law School.

Former President Trump cited Senator Vance’s best-seller, “Hillbilly Elegy,” which “became a bestseller and was made into a movie because it championed the hard-working people of our country.”

Former President Trump, 78, appears to have chosen Senator Vance, who is half his age, as an attempt to win over young people, working class voters, and swing states in the Rust Belt.
