US President Joe Biden retains control over the Democratic Party and has already decided to run as a candidate in the upcoming presidential election. Biden campaign spokesman Cedric Richmond said this on CBS, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
He was asked if the growing number of Democrats calling for Biden to drop out of the race meant he had lost control of the party. “No, it does not. He hears their concerns, and he wants to make it clear that he has made a decision. Four Democratic U.S. senators have now publicly called on Biden to withdraw his candidacy. On Sunday, they were joined by independent Senator Joe Manchin (R-West Virginia), who was also a Democrat until May 2024 and still supports the Democratic Party in the upper chamber of the U.S. Congress. In addition, at least 30 members of the House of Representatives have made a similar call to Biden.
