Atlanta Stars to Shine at 2025 MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game

A star-studded lineup of Atlanta’s most recognizable figures will take the field for the 2025 MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game on Saturday, July 12, at Truist Park. The game promises a thrilling spectacle as part of All-Star Week, leading up to the main event – the 2025 MLB All-Star Game hosted in Atlanta.

A Celebration of Atlanta Talent

The celebrity softball game will feature a diverse roster of musicians, athletes, and entertainers, highlighting the vibrant cultural landscape of Atlanta. This year’s matchup will pit Atlanta music legend Jermaine Dupri against former Braves catcher and three-time All-Star Javy Lopez, each managing a team through a five-inning contest.

Major League Baseball recently announced a wave of new additions to the roster, with a clear emphasis on celebrating local talent. Joining the game are: Big Boi, the iconic Atlanta rap artist; Kandi Burruss, a successful singer and entrepreneur; Ronnie DeVoe, an R&B star and member of New Edition; Mariah The Scientist, an Atlanta-born R&B artist; Funny Marco, a comedian and actor hailing from Atlanta; and Elle Duncan and Maria Taylor, both ESPN personalities with strong Atlanta ties.

Expanding the All-Star Roster

These new additions complement previously announced stars, including Atlanta native and rapper Quavo, Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles, comedian Druski, MLB legend CC Sabathia, and softball Olympic gold medalists Jennie Finch and Natasha Watley. The roster is further bolstered by Latin music star Prince Royce, Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Owens, social media comedians Jake Storiale and Nicky Cass, and the beloved Capital One Bank Guy.

Game Details and Charitable Impact

The Celebrity Softball Game will immediately follow the All-Star Futures Game, which showcases baseball’s top Minor League prospects, beginning at 4 p.m. at Truist Park. Gates will open at 1 p.m., offering fans access to both events with a single ticket, available for purchase at AllStarGame.com. MLB is currently offering discounted seats to commemorate the expanded roster announcement.

Beyond the entertainment value, the game serves a vital purpose, supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. This partnership represents Major League Baseball’s nearly 29-year commitment to the nonprofit organization. Fans unable to attend in person can catch the live action on MLB.TV and MLB social media channels around 8:30 p.m. ET, with a replay scheduled to air on MLB Network on Monday, July 14, at 1 p.m. ET.
