Jamui: Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department, Dr. S. Siddharth reached Jamui on Friday to investigate the case of beating by anti-social elements of teachers working in Basantpur Vidyalaya located in Simultala area. During this, he also took stock of the arrangements of Simultala Residential School as well as many schools. While going to Simultala, he suddenly reached a school located in Jhajha block and checked the food being given to children under the mid-day meal scheme.

He scolded the school teachers and the local officials of the education department for not providing food as per the menu. Actually, Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department was going to Simultala. In this sequence, he reached Lahawan and took stock of Basantpur School. During this, the mid-day meal being given to children in primary school Auraiya was examined.

Food not as per menu
According to the menu, he was shocked to see no food. Additional Chief Secretary said that there is a provision to give eggs to children in the mid-day meal on Friday. But why is the egg not visible in the children’s plate? He asked in a questioning tone whether the children had already eaten the egg. Apart from this, he took rice and vegetables in a plate and checked its quality. He said in an angry tone that pulao has to be given to the children on Friday, but why only rice is being fed here.
Got a shocking answer
On this, the officials of the Education Department gave a very surprising answer, due to which the Additional Chief Secretary was surprised. District Education Officer Rajesh Kumar and other officials told him that the month of Kartik is going on. In such a situation, in view of Diwali and Chhath festival, eggs are not being given to children in their food. After this he left for the next school without saying anything. There was a stir among teachers and officers due to the arrival of Additional Chief Secretary in Jamui. He also inspected many schools in Simultala.
