Patna: The Bihar government has refused to give grants for the month of July to the state universities. This decision has been taken by the education department because the universities have not provided information related to their teachers and employees on time. Actually, on June 20, the education department had instructed the vice-chancellors of all universities to upload all the information related to salary, pension and guest teachers of all the teachers and employees working with them on the ‘Pay-roll Management Portal’. However, the universities did not do so, due to which the education department has taken this step.
Grant amount even after uploading data
The Education Department has informed all the Vice Chancellors that until the universities upload all the information on the portal, they will not get the grant for July. The department has also said that the grant amount will be released only after uploading the relevant data of teachers and employees on the portal. The Governor and Chancellor Secretariat have also been informed about this decision. This may delay the teachers and employees in getting their July salary. Along with this, retired teachers and employees may also face problems in getting their pension.
Instructions were given on 20 June itself
Education Secretary Baidyanath Yadav wrote a letter to all the Vice Chancellors on Monday and reminded them of the instructions of June 20. He said that the work of uploading data by all the universities is being continuously reviewed. The Education Secretary said that apart from the salary of teachers and non-teaching staff working on the Payroll Management Portal, the facility of uploading data related to pension, family pension and guest teachers has been given, hence the process of uploading the necessary data on the Payroll Management Portal should be completed immediately, so that the action of salary release of July 2024 can be done. On the other hand, the Education Department reviewed the information given by Magadh University on Monday. In the review, it was found that the university has uploaded only 61 percent of the information. The Education Department has expressed displeasure over this.
