Dandy: In Bihar’s Banka district, the education department has started keeping a close watch on teachers’ online attendance through the e-Shiksha Kosh app. Through this app, teachers’ arrival and departure time to school and activities like marking attendance by mistake are being monitored. During the review meeting of the education department in the Collectorate on Tuesday, District Magistrate Anshul Kumar identified 48 teachers who left school before time and ordered action against them.

Show cause notice to 48 teachers

On the order of the District Magistrate, District Program Officer (Establishment) Raj Kumar Raju has issued a show cause notice to these 48 teachers and asked them to give an explanation within 24 hours. If they do not give an explanation, departmental action will be taken against these teachers. District Program Officer (SSA) Deepak Kumar said that many teachers are leaving school at 4 pm instead of 4.30 pm for three consecutive days. It was told in the review meeting that in 96 percent of the schools, teachers are making online attendance. The District Magistrate gave instructions to keep a strict eye on the time of coming and going to school and to give a report on every aspect. District Education Officer Kundan Kumar said that teachers are being monitored through the e-Shiksha Kosh app for the last two months.

The teachers from whom clarification has been sought are Dipanshu Kumar, Avantika Kumari, Mamta Kumari, Amit Alok, Mithilesh Kumar, Suraj Kumar, Purnima Kumari, Ravikant Kumar, Arzoo Begum, Kumar Sanjiv, Sudhir Kumar Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Lalu Kumar, Lalan Kumar, Abhijeet Kumar Singh, Shikha Kumari, Priyanka Kumari, Nilofer, Abhishek Kumar Yadav, Vipin Kumar Singh, Amit Anand, Subodh Rajak, Abodh Kumar Mandal, Lal Bahadur, Sunita Singh, Santosh Kumar Saha, Rajkumari, Sadanand Sao, Vijay Krishna Saha and Ruby Kumari.

Continuous action will be taken

District Program Officer (SSA) Deepak Kumar said that the technical team of SSA is regularly monitoring the attendance of teachers on the e-Shiksha Kosh app. Apart from many teachers coming late and leaving early, cases of marking attendance using someone else’s mobile, marking attendance outside the school premises, marking attendance using school ID instead of teacher ID are constantly coming to light. Now continuous action will be taken against such teachers.
