Purnia: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday conducted an aerial survey of the Chunapur military airport area in Purnia and held a high-level review meeting related to the airport. He said that once this airport becomes functional, people of two-three nearby divisions will get a lot of convenience. People will not have to go to Bagdogra for air travel. In the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to speed up the development work of the Chunapur military airport and complete it soon.

He said that there should be better road connectivity to Chunapur military airport for smooth movement of passengers. Special care should be taken to ensure better seating arrangements and other basic facilities so that people do not face any inconvenience. The Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of Chunapur airport before the review meeting. In the review meeting, Purnia District Magistrate Kundan Kumar gave detailed information to the Chief Minister regarding the land acquired for the construction of the proposed civil enclave of Chunapur military airport, length of the runway, road connectivity and other development works.

Review meeting regarding airport
During the review meeting, Air Vice Marshal SK Mathur and GM, Architecture of Civil Aviation also presented their suggestions to the Chief Minister regarding the development work of Chunapur military airport. After this, the Chief Minister paid tribute to former Chief Minister Bhola Paswan Shastri by garlanding his statue installed at Kazha Kothi in Kazha village. The Chief Minister inspected the renovation work of Kazha Kothi and the Kazha Kothi lake.
Foundation stone laid for 4 buildings
During this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Model Police Station Building Rupauli, Model Police Station Building Champa Nagar and Regional Forensic Science Laboratory in Purnia at a cost of Rs 19.20 crore and also laid the foundation stone of 4 police station buildings to be constructed in Purnia district at a cost of Rs 25.93 crore. The Chief Minister visited the stalls set up by various departments in Kajha Kothi premises. During the inspection, the Chief Minister provided cheques and acceptance letters to the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, Sustainable Livelihood Scheme, Bihar Student Credit Card, Intercaste Marriage Promotion Grant Scheme. Food and Consumer Protection Minister Leshi Singh, MLA Vijay Kumar Khemka, former MP Santosh Kushwaha were also present on this occasion.
