After that they took all the details of the soldier’s mobile phone. After that they sent a link to download some apps on his mobile phone. After that the soldier kept on downloading that link on his mobile. After that the criminals hacked his mobile phone. After hacking, they withdrew Rs 33 lakh from his account. When the retired soldier came to know that a big fraud has been committed with him, then he approached the police.

Police started investigating the matter. After that Saran Cyber Police Station arrested two people from Asansol, West Bengal. Deputy Superintendent of Police cum Cyber Police Station Head Aman said that on May 15, Rs 33 lakh was illegally withdrawn from retired soldier Santosh Kumar Singh, resident of Sargatti of Gadkha police station area, through a call on the pretext of increasing the validity of SIM card. Victim retired soldier Santosh Kumar said that when he got the call, he gave the phone to his nephew so that he could understand the matter and operate the mobile further. But he also fell into the trap of the fraudsters and downloaded an app. Through that, the scoundrels withdrew Rs 33 lakh from his two bank accounts.
Police took action
Among the arrested accused, Subham Tanti is the son of Sagar Tanti, resident of Koilbari Central Sadhgram of Jamuari police station area of Bardhaman district of West Bengal. The other criminal Mukesh Modak is the son of Manikchand Modak, resident of Bagrudih village of Karmatar police station area of Jamtara district of Jharkhand state. Cyber DSP Aman said that the police is constantly making people aware so that they do not fall into the trap of such people, but despite this people are being careless due to which such incidents are coming to the fore.
