Patna: The weather will remain changed in Bihar today. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain and thunderstorms in 6 districts, while 12 districts have been put on alert mode. This is happening due to the low pressure area forming in the Bay of Bengal and the monsoon trough line. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains and thunderstorms in West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Shivhar, Sitamarhi and Madhubani. Orange alert has been issued in these districts. Along with this, yellow alert of rain and thunderstorms has also been issued in Patna, Nalanda, Vaishali, Saran, Samastipur, Bhojpur, Madhubani, West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj and Siwan districts.

The weather will improve from Saturday

The Meteorological Department says that a low pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. A cyclonic circulation is formed 7.6 km above the North Andhra Pradesh and South Odisha coasts. It is likely to move slowly towards the north in the next two days. According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon trough is now passing through the center of the low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal through Suratgarh, Rohtak, Mandla. Another east-west trough line is going from Haryana to Manipur, through eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Due to the effect of all these weather systems, most of the districts of Bihar are likely to receive rain today. However, the weather is expected to improve from Saturday.

Most rain in Munger on Thursday

Monsoon was quite active in Bihar on Thursday. Many districts of North Bihar and South Bihar received good rain. There was no rain in Patna and some surrounding districts, but the sky remained cloudy. The highest rainfall was recorded in Munger at 132.5 mm and Kishanganj at 118.02 mm. Purnia received 115.2 mm, Supaul 114 mm, Katihar 108.5 mm, Bhagalpur 98.2 mm, Madhepura 94.2 mm, Banka 90.4 mm and Khagaria 68.2 mm of rain. Apart from this, Aurangabad received 60.4 mm, Vaishali 60.2 mm, East Champaran 51.4 mm and Gaya 48.2 mm of rain. Buxar, Kaimur, Rohtas, Arwal, Jehanabad and Bhojpur also received good rain.

Temperature drops due to rain

Due to rain, the temperature also fell. There was no rain in Patna, but the temperature fell by 1.9 degrees Celsius to 32.3 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature was recorded in Arwal at 36.4 degrees Celsius and the lowest temperature was recorded in Katihar at 29.7 degrees Celsius. The average temperature of the state remained around 32 degrees Celsius.
