Bihar Weather Update: Warning of heavy rain in South Bihar, alert issued in 6 districts

Patna: Monsoon has once again become fully active in Bihar. Heavy rain warning has been issued in 6 districts of South Bihar, while people have been asked to remain alert in 3 districts. The Meteorological Department says that very heavy rain may occur in Rohtas, Kaimur and Aurangabad districts of South Bihar. Along with this, there is a possibility of thunderstorms along with heavy rain in Gaya, Nawada and Arwal districts. Intermittent rain will also continue in the capital Patna and surrounding areas.

Monsoon is active in 19 districts of South Bihar

According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. This area is passing through Ferozepur, Patiala, Shahjahanpur, Ballia, Gangetic West Bengal at sea level. Due to its effect, monsoon will remain active in all 19 districts of South Bihar. Light to moderate rain may occur in all these districts. Light to moderate rain may also occur in Saran, Vaishali and Gopalganj districts of North Bihar. At the same time, the rest of the districts of North Bihar will remain cloudy and light rain may occur. During this time, the temperature may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department says that the monsoon may weaken after September 17.

Rain in many districts of Bihar on Sunday

On Sunday as well, many parts of the state received heavy rains. The highest rainfall was recorded in Rohtas at 141.2 mm, Gaya at 119 mm and Aurangabad at 118.4 mm. Apart from this, 110 mm rain was recorded in Begusarai, 106 mm in Madhepura, 105.5 mm in Munger, 98.02 mm in Khagaria, 72.6 mm in Nalanda, 72.6 mm in Jamui, 72.6 mm in Sitamarhi, 70.6 mm in Banka and 68 mm in Nawada. Light to moderate rain was recorded in other districts of the state including the capital Patna.

Slight rise in temperature

On Sunday, the temperature increased slightly as compared to Saturday. However, people got relief from the humid heat. The maximum temperature of the capital Patna increased by 3.3 degrees Celsius to 32.8 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature was recorded in Gopalganj at 34.9 degrees Celsius and the lowest temperature was recorded in Banka at 27.9 degrees Celsius. The average temperature of the state remained around 31 to 32 degrees Celsius.
