Bill Gates Foundation to invest $ 15 billion in clean technologies

by time news

Breakthrough Energy, a non-profit organization founded by Bill Gates in 2015, intends to invest about $ 15 billion in projects in the US, EU and UK aimed at achieving zero harmful emissions into the atmosphere. The Financial Times was informed about this by the managing director of the NPO, John Goldman.

Funds for the projects will be allocated through the Catalyst program, a public-private foundation that raised about $ 1.5 billion in the fall from charitable organizations and businesses. The fund intends to invest in four key areas: direct air capture, clean hydrogen, jet fuel and energy storage technologies.

Funds will come in the form of charitable donations, equity investments and product purchase agreements. The investment from Breakthrough Energy Catalyst will receive large environmental projects that cannot be implemented without serious financial injections.
