“A number of huge global failures over the past few years have left many people in despair and wondering if the world is destined to get worse.” Gates tweeted about failures around the world in recent years.

Gates attributed the tweet to the ongoing corona plague, failures created in his view in gender equality and women’s health, climate change and Russia’s war on Ukraine as some of the major issues facing the world today.

Regarding donation at this time, Gates said, “I hope that with the help of the donation we can reduce some of the suffering that people are facing now and help fulfill the foundation’s vision of giving everyone the opportunity to live a healthy and productive life.”
