Buffalo Bills Reporter Maddy Glab Apologizes for Hot Mic Incident Involving Stefon Diggs

Buffalo Bills team reporter, Maddy Glab, has issued an apology after a hot mic incident caught her making critical comments about star receiver Stefon Diggs. The incident occurred during a live stream ahead of a Bills press conference and the video quickly went viral, garnering over 1.5 million views.

In the video, Glab can be heard saying, “There’s no control over Stefon Diggs. Dudes gonna do what he wants to do. He’ll look in my face and say (expletive) you…that’s how he treats everybody.” The comments sparked backlash and prompted Glab to release a statement on Wednesday evening.

“I am very sorry for what I said and meant no ill will,” Glab expressed in her statement shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. She further emphasized her respect for Diggs, describing him as one of her favorite players to cover. Glab mentioned his great character and the respect he shows towards the media.

Glab provided context for the viral clip, explaining that the comment was intended as a joke in response to a reporter suggesting she go and get Diggs for an interview. She clarified that she was referring to Diggs’ independent nature and his playful relationship with the team’s video department.

“I should not have said what I said… Stef is not in the wrong, I am,” Glab concluded in her statement, accepting responsibility for her remarks.

According to Glab’s LinkedIn page, she has been serving as the Bills team reporter since July 2019. Her apology comes after the incident caused a stir among Bills fans and the wider NFL community. Diggs has not yet publicly addressed the matter.

The Buffalo Bills organization has not released an official statement regarding the incident, and it remains to be seen if any disciplinary action will be taken.
