Bioviva cards in the new Wonders of the World tablets

by time news

Chocolate to die for, and a card to collect. Many children of the 1980s and 1990s have fond memories of Wonders of the World tablets. So, since their disappearance some twenty years ago, they have been trying to rediscover the regressive flavor of this chocolate with hazelnuts and crushed almonds from the competition. In vain. Amélie Coulombe and Alexandre Kanar, founders of the Krokola company, and nostalgic for the tablets of their childhood, had the good idea to bring them back to life.

They reclaimed the rights, and worked hard with historians and Wonders of the World fans to bring this unique snack back to life. “It’s a brand we grew up with, which speaks to us a lot, confided Amélie Coulombe, to 20 Minutes, in December. She still retains 30% notoriety and an affect, an emotional, ultra-strong. »

Warn about the dangers that threaten the species

But Wonders of the World wouldn’t be Wonders of the World without the essential cards featuring animals, offered in the tablets. Their creation was entrusted to the Montpellier company Bioviva, queen of educational and ecological games since 1996. A first collection of 12 cards (a tiger, a lion, a zebra, an eagle, a whale, but also trees), inspired of the Défis Nature games, will be offered in the first tablets, available from March in supermarkets.

The cards will offer information about the species, such as its weight or its longevity. – Wonders of the world

“The photograph of the animal, in its natural environment, or of the plant will be accompanied by multiple information, such as its scientific name, the area where it is found, its weight, its speed or its longevity for the animals, etc. “, explains Jelena Kuhn, at Bioviva. And “the degree of extinction that weighs on the species”. Because the idea is, even more than before, to alert gourmets to the dangers that threaten animals and plants. Moreover, the Krokola brand is committed to the collective 1% for the Planet, by donating 1% of its annual turnover to environmental associations. There is a small difference, however, with the cards of the time: for environmental reasons, they will have to be cut directly on the packaging.
