/ EgyptAir announced on Friday the cancellation of its flight from Kigali Airport in Rwanda due to some birds colliding with the plane’s engine while it was moving on the runway.

The company said in a statement followed by Agency that “during the take-off of one of the company’s Boeing aircraft from Kigali Airport in Rwanda heading to Cairo Airport with 116 passengers on board, some birds collided with the plane’s engine while it was moving on the runway, which led to the captain canceling the take-off and returning to the site again to preserve the safety of the passengers and the plane.”

She also added in a statement that “all passengers were taken off the plane and taken to hotels in Kigali until the plane was inspected and any traces resulting from the birds hitting the engine were removed.”

It is noteworthy that flights are often exposed to such accidents, which are classified as natural accidents.

In such cases, the responsible captain intervenes to take appropriate measures to preserve the safety of passengers.
