The ancestral home of late legendary actor Dilip Kumar is located in the heart of Peshawar, Pakistan. The dilapidated house is about to collapse.

Quoting an official of the Pakistani government, the Indian news agency PTI reported in a report that Dilip Kumar’s house was damaged due to heavy rain recently. Most of the house has collapsed. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Archives Department has been asked to take over the maintenance of the house very soon.

Pakistan Heritage Council Secretary Shakeel Wahidullah said that the house was damaged due to heavy rains recently. Their office had earlier sought money from the government for maintenance. But not found.

The house was built in 1880. Dilip Kumar was born in this house in 1922. The house is located near the historical Qissa Khani Bazar in Peshawar. Dilip Kumar left this house and moved to India in 1932. But this elite actor spent the first 12 years of his life in this house.

On July 13, 2014, this house of Dilip Kumar was declared a National Heritage by the Government of Pakistan. This was announced by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif. Dilip Kumar once visited this house in Pakistan after partition.
