The attack on the Jaffna Fort church was not a deliberate act but was carried out by a psychiatrist, said Archbishop Aruttantai yecuratnam.
He said this while commenting on the demolition of the scorpions of a Christian church near the Jaffna Fort this morning.
As he continued to comment,
St. Anthony’s Church scorpions damaged by a mentally ill person. The perpetrator is already familiar to us.
He is a psychiatrist and has been staying at this temple for a long time. We tried to kick him out several times but he did not go. This is not something that was done intentionally but something that was done by a psychiatrist. He has been arrested by the police.
I was then informed that I had gone to the police station and lodged a complaint and the police would take further action.
So there is no need to confuse the public in this regard as there is no need to confuse as the Christian church was attacked.
