Shocking: A man was convicted of murdering his albino brother who all he cared about was selling his body parts to “sorcerers and priests who engage in mystical spells.”
McDonald Masombuka, 22, of Malawi in East Africa, was murdered in cold blood by his older brother and four other people, just because he was albino. All the men charged in the affair were jailed after being tried in the state Supreme Court on June 28 (yesterday).
Thomas Mohosha, a Catholic priest who deals with healing through herbs and one of those involved in the murder, received a lighter sentence of 30 years for taking part in the sale of the body parts of the deceased. The Catholic Church has already suspended Mohosha from office when they first discover his involvement in the affair.
The 22-year-old’s upper body and head were discovered about a month after the murder, but without his hands and feet. Judge Dorothy Niakounda, noted that Masombuka was violently murdered when betrayed by those closest to him. This is in addition to the degree of careful planning of the murder, where she addressed the key aspects of the case when sentencing.
