New Delhi: The BJP-led NDA has completed its seat talks in Punjab with the participation of Captain Amarinder Singh’s Punjab Lok Lok Congress and Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa’s Akali Dal faction. The BJP will contest 65 seats. The captain’s party will contest 37 seats and the Akali Dal 15 seats. BJP national president JP Nadda said there would be some shifts in the seats.

Nadda and Captain Amarinder Singh said the aim was not only a change of government in Punjab but also the security of the country and the development of Punjab as a state that shares a border with Pakistan.

Punjab needs special attention. The leaders said the state was lagging behind in the development index. The BJP had earlier announced its candidates for 34 seats in the Punjab Assembly elections.

BJP state president Ashwini Kumar said the party would announce the chief ministerial candidate later. Further discussions are yet to take place. He also said that the common minimum program of the Front will be prepared.

Capt Amarinder Singh said that the manifesto prepared by the Punjab Lok Lok Congress has been handed over to the BJP and the NDA’s general manifesto will come.

Imran called for Sidhu: Amarinder

Former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has alleged that Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan had recommended the appointment of Navjot Singh Sidhu to the cabinet. The message was, “If not, get fired.”

The captain said he had asked Sidhu how he could associate with those who harm the country. He said Sidhu was a useless minister.
