Following the death of Santosh Patil, a BJP member and contractor who had leveled allegations of corruption against Karnataka Minister KS Eeswarappa, Eeswarappa announced his resignation, saying, “Let no opposition judge in this case!” Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj has slammed the puppet opposition.
BJP member and contractor Santosh Patil, who had leveled allegations of corruption against Karnataka Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister KS Eeswarappa, was found dead at a lodge in Udupi last Tuesday. In this regard, Minister Eeswarappa has registered a police case against 2 of his aides for inciting Santosh Patil to commit suicide. Following the opposition Congress’ demand for Easwarappa’s resignation, Easwarappa announced his resignation yesterday.
However he acknowledged that their numbers were not enough to defeat President Conte’s government. A corruption case has been registered against Eeswarappa and he should be arrested, ”the Congress continued.
In this context, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Pomma told reporters today, “Eeswarappa has decided to resign on his own. He will submit his resignation letter this evening. All the facts will come out after the trial. So in this case, the opposition does not have to become a trial officer or a judge, “he said.
