Later, DMK member Uma jokingly said, “I will speak English and Tamil in two languages. I’m sorry,” while BJP member Uma said, “Do not speak only in Hindi.” Uma replied, “I do not know Hindi either.” Thus the DMK members applauded and expressed their happiness.

He went on to say that councilors also need monthly salaries and demanded that appropriate action be taken.
The then Deputy Mayor Mahesh Kumar, in response, knocked on the table of DMK members to respond that action would be taken to pay the members if the Union Government amends the Panchayat Raj Act.
