Police arrested 24 people, including a Saraswati MLA, and detained them at a nearby wedding hall for protesting against the ban. They were later released in the evening. Erode police have registered a case against 24 people, including Saraswati MLA, for breaking the coconut to create religious hatred for self-promoting politics.
