BJP MLA arrested in protest at festival

by time news

The most famous temple in Erode is the Great Mariamman Temple. The festival is held every year in the month of Panguni. For the last two years there have been no events as per the Corona rules. This year the festival was held on the 31st. Millions of people from suburbs and suburbs visit this temple regularly for two weeks. The Mariamman Temple is located on Prab Road, the main road of Erode. Behind the temple is the CSI of the Christians. Institutional school and hospitals are located on several acres of land. For a long time Hindu religious organizations have been propagating to the people that the CSI Christian organization is occupying the land of the Great Mariamman Temple and will cause religious conflict tensions by announcing some form of protest during the annual temple festival.

Directly to the BJP, the Hindu Front, the RSS. This struggle will take place in the name of Erode Big Mariamman Temple Land Reclamation Movement without going down to that field. The temple land reclamation movement had earlier announced that 5,001 scattered coconuts would be smashed in front of the Mariamman temple demanding the return of land for the big Mariamman temple this year as well. The police refused to allow this struggle. They also warned that they would be arrested if they violated the ban.

As a precautionary measure, more than 100 policemen led by Town DSP Ananthakumar have been deployed since the morning of the 31st. In this situation, more than 30 BJP and Hindu leaders gathered in front of the Erode Eeswaran temple in the name of the Mariamman temple land reclamation movement. BJP Authorities, led by Modakkurichi assembly member CK Saraswathi, said 24 people abruptly went to the Big Mariamman temple and broke only 10 coconuts in defiance of a police ban, chanting ‘Bharat Mataki J’ irrelevantly. Police arrested 24 people, including a Saraswati MLA, and detained them at a nearby wedding hall for protesting against the ban. They were later released in the evening. Erode police have registered a case against 24 people, including Saraswati MLA, for breaking the coconut to create religious hatred for self-promoting politics.

The BJP continues to seek political gain by infiltrating religious politics wherever devotees congregate.
