BJP takes up Tanjore student suicide case

by time news

Ariyalur student suicide case has sparked controversy. Ariyalur student, who was studying at Pure Heart High School near Thirukattupalli in Thanjavur district, committed suicide a few days ago.

Lavanya is said to have confessed on her deathbed that she tried to commit suicide due to stress as the caretaker of the hotel where she was staying told her to clean the rooms. The caretaker of the hostel, Sagayamari, has been arrested in the case.

Meanwhile, the BJP has accused the student of committing suicide by forcing him to convert at school.

The BJP has been staging protests in various places demanding immediate implementation of the Prohibition of Conversion Act and a CBI inquiry into Lavanya’s death. However, neither the government nor the school administration has ruled that forced conversion was not the cause of the student’s death.

In this context, a four-member committee has been set up on behalf of the BJP to conduct a face-to-face inquiry into the incident in which a Tanjore student was killed due to forced conversion.
