BJP welcomes Anil Antony, son of Senior Congress leader AK Antony, to their party.

Anil Antony, the son of former Defense Minister AK Antony, has joined the BJP party in New Delhi. AK Antony is recognized as one of the senior leaders of the Congress party and a close associate of Sonia Gandhi’s family. He was a Defense Minister during the Manmohan Singh-led cabinet. Anil Antony joined the BJP in the presence of senior BJP leader and Union Minister Piyush Goyal, along with Union Minister of State for Kerala V. Muralitharan and Kerala BJP President Surendran.

Previously, Anil Antony headed the Kerala state social media wing of the Congress party and openly protested the release of a BBC documentary that criticized Prime Minister Modi over the Gujarat riots. Anil Antony resigned from the Congress party and joined the BJP.

Anil Antony, talking to the media after joining the BJP, highlighted that every member of the Congress party works for a family, but he worked for the Congress party. He praised Prime Minister Modi for his vision, which seeks to lead India to a prominent position in a diverse world.

Anil Antony completed his B Tech from Engineering College, Thiruvananthapuram, and his MSc from Stanford University, California, USA. Anil Antony is Christian and his joining the BJP is expected to increase the party’s support among Christians in Kerala.

AK Antony is considered to be one of the senior Congress leaders and very close to Sonia Gandhi’s family. He served as the Defense Minister in the cabinet led by former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. His son Anil Anthony joined the BJP today in the presence of one of the senior BJP leaders and Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Delhi. Union Minister of State for Kerala V. Muralitharan and Kerala BJP President Surendran were with him then.

Anil Anthony, who was the head of the Kerala state social media wing of the Congress party, openly protested the release of a documentary by the BBC last January, which was critical of Prime Minister Modi in relation to the Gujarat riots. Lord Modi is working with a vision to take India to a leading position in a diverse world. I have joined the BJP because of his inspiration,” he said.
