While the DMK has won most of the wards in the Chennai Municipal Corporation elections, the stand-alone BJP has won in the 134th ward.
The vote count for the urban local elections took place today. In which DMK. It has captured a total of 21 corporations. Moreover, Amoka has been successful with the alliance.
The isolated BJP has also taken over the corporation, municipality and borough wards. Out of 200 wards in Chennai, results for 156 wards have been officially announced so far. It has won more than 100 seats and made the corporation a home.
In DMK-friendly Chennai, the BJP candidate has won the 134th ward. This ward is under DMK. The alliance was reserved for the Congress party. Susila Gopalakrishnan contested on behalf of the party. Anuradha Kalam was killed on behalf of the AIADMK. Uma Anandan contested on behalf of the BJP.
The votes were counted in three rounds. In the end, BJP candidate Uma Anandan won with 5539 votes. The Congress candidate lost by 3503 votes. The AIADMK candidate got 2695 votes.
