BJP withdraws from by-elections for Shiv Sena candidate’s victory Dinamalar

Mumbai: In the by-elections to the Andheri East Assembly constituency in the state of Maharashtra, the BJP has withdrawn its candidate so that the Shiv Sena candidate can be elected unopposed.

In Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena disaffected group, BJP, and the coalition government led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Mid-term elections

Former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde filed petitions with the Election Commission claiming the right for Shiv Sena.

In this case, by-elections are going to be held on Nov. 3 for Andheri East assembly constituency in capital Mumbai.

This by-election is happening due to the death of Shiv Sena’s Ramesh Ladke, who was the MLA of this constituency. Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena has announced his wife Ruduja Ladke as its candidate. BJP has announced Murji Patel as its candidate against him.

Maharashtra Navnirman Party chief Raj Thackeray, Uddhav Thackeray’s half-brother, had sent a letter to BJP senior leader and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Patnavis.

Yesterday was the last day

In it, Raj Thackeray had sought to honor the services of the late Ramesh Ladke by helping his wife get elected unopposed.
Nationalist Congress President Sharad Pawar also emphasized the same point.
Following this, the BJP announced yesterday that it will withdraw its candidate.
Yesterday was the last day to file nomination papers to contest this by-election.
