BJP Woman Executive Arrested for Assaulting Students Hanging from Bus

Chennai – Ranjana Nachiar, a BJP woman executive, was taken into custody yesterday for assaulting students who were hanging from a government bus. The incident occurred when Ranjana Nachiar, the State Secretary of the Art and Culture division in BJP, witnessed several school and college students dangerously clinging to the bus while it was in motion.

Ranjana Nachiyar promptly intervened and halted the bus, reprimanding both the driver and conductor for their negligence. She then approached the students hanging onto the stairs, aggressively urging them to disembark. In a fit of rage, Ranjana attacked those who hesitated to comply, proclaiming herself as the police. The situation quickly escalated, capturing the attention of onlookers who recorded the incident and shared it extensively on social media.

While some hailed Ranjana Nachiar as a hero for her actions, others condemned her for taking the law into her own hands and assaulting students. The backlash intensified after it was revealed that she was a member of the BJP.

Subsequently, the police traced the bus route and arrested Ranjana Nachiar at her residence. During the arrest, she demanded to see a warrant and the FIR. However, she was forcibly taken into custody, with female police officers assisting in the process.

Ranjana Nachiar has been charged under five sections, including obstructing a government bus, preventing government employees from performing their duties, and speaking obscenely.

In court, Ranjana Nachiar’s lawyers argued for her release on bail, emphasizing that her actions were driven by concern for the safety of the students and a desire for social good. They highlighted the potential deterrent effect of punishing individuals engaged in social work.

The government vehemently opposed the bail request. After careful consideration, Judge Ramkumar granted conditional bail to Ranjana Nachiar. The conditions included signing in at the Mangadu police station twice a day for 40 days.

In response to this incident, officials from the Municipal Transport Corporation expressed their commitment to increasing bus services to meet the demands of students. They advised drivers and conductors to promptly report any instances of students hanging from buses to the police station. Furthermore, they recommended the procurement of additional buses equipped with closing doors in the coming years.
