Based on a true story and the book In With the Devilby James Keene and Hillel Levin, the series Black Bird tells Keene’s own friendship with a serial killer. The protagonist is a former football promise, the son of a policeman, who ends up in drug dealing and he is sentenced to ten years in prison. In order to get his freedom back, Keene decides to accept a proposal that looks like a poisoned apple: he is transferred to a maximum security prison, where he has the task of befriending multiple murder suspect Larry Hall to extract useful information from him to condemn him. Yet Larry is so quiet and peaceful … is he really a serial killer? The six-episode series is available from today (with the first two) on Apple TV +.
