The action role-playing game and Soulslike Black Myth: Wukong from the Chinese developer studio Game Science has reached more than 2.4 million players simultaneously at its peak, making it already the second most successful PC game of all time on the game distribution platform Steam. In the detailed tech test by PCGH, the blockbuster also impressed, proving to be “gorgeous” but also “extremely difficult” — for players and graphics cards alike. However, those who wish can now extensively optimize further, thanks to a powerful tweak tool.
The tool, which is only 622 kilobytes in size, WukongTweak, is a plugin that works via Arbitrary Script Injector (“ASI”) and has been released in its first public version 0.8.1. This allows developers to add custom scripts to the game to incorporate new features, settings, modifications, and improvements. In the case of Black Myth: Wukong, WukongTweak currently offers the following additional options that go beyond the graphics menu.

In addition to a customizable field of view (FOV) and aspect ratio, whose limitation to 21:9 can be lifted, WukongTweak also offers customizable sharpening as well as the ability to disable chromatic aberration and the vignetting effect at the screen’s edge.
