Jakarta – A new film starring South Korean actor Ma dong-seok (Don Lee) and BLACKPINK’s Lisa will be shooting scenes across the Jabodetabek area, prompting traffic diversions starting December 8, 2025. The production, which will continue through March 30, 2026, is already impacting traffic planning in the Indonesian capital and surrounding cities.

The film’s production will require traffic management in key Jakarta locations over a four-month period.

  • Filming is scheduled from December 8, 2025, to March 30, 2026.
  • Locations include Kota Tua,Cikini,Bekasi,and Depok City.
  • Traffic diversions will be in effect on Jalan cengkeh from February 1-7, 2026.
  • The production received permission directly from the National Police Headquarters due to the involvement of foreign nationals and multiple jurisdictions.

According to Kombes Budi Hermanto, head of Public relations for Polda Metro Jaya, the traffic engineering is a direct result of lessons learned during the filming of “Extraction: Tygo,” organized by PT Asia Media Alliance Group. “Time (filming starts) December 8 2025 to March 30 2026,” Budi stated on Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The film will utilize a variety of iconic locations, including Kota Tua, Batavia Castle, the CTC (central trading company) building, New Bridge, Muara Baru, Cikini Hospital, Bekasi, and Depok City. These diverse settings suggest a visually dynamic production.

What permits were required for this international film shoot? The production secured permission directly from the National Police Headquarters as it involves foreign nationals and spans the jurisdictions of Polda Metro Jaya and Polda West Java.

Budi Hermanto confirmed that the permit process was completed due to the presence of foreign nationals and the film’s reach across multiple regional police jurisdictions. “Permission from the National Police Headquarters because it involves WNA (foreign nationals) and two provinces with the jurisdiction of Polda Metro Jaya and Polda West Java,” he added.

Traffic Diversions Planned for West Jakarta

authorities have already announced traffic diversion plans for Jalan Cengkeh in West Jakarta,scheduled for February 1-7,2026. These measures are intended to minimize disruption during filming.

the planned traffic engineering schemes include:

  1. Kunir & Kemukus Road Engineering (January 28-29, 2026, 15:00 – 06:00 WIB): Closure of Jalan Kalibesar Barat – Jalan Kunir. Traffic from West Kalibesar (Red Shop & Mercure Hotel) will be diverted to Jalan Kunir Dalam. A one-way system will be implemented on Jalan kunir Dalam towards Kampung Bandan and Jalan Kemukus (Beos Station). The MCB (median Concrete Barrier/Movable Concrete Barrier) on Jalan Kemukus will be opened.
  2. Fisherman, Cengkeh & West Kalibesar Road Engineering (February 1-7, 2026): Traffic from Cengkeh on the north side will be diverted towards Jalan Nelayan (Jembatan Intan). Motorists from the Intan Bridge will be directed to turn left towards Jalan kalibesar Barat. Motorists from the direction of Flagpole will be directed to turn left towards Jalan Ekor Kuning. Jalan Cengkeh will be fully closed.
