Sunday, July 21 will see the comedic film from 1999 titled Austin Powers – The Spy Who Shagged Me broadcast in the afternoon on Italia 1, at 2:15 PM. The movie is based on characters created by Canadian comedian Mike Myers and is directed by filmmaker Jay Roach, who will oversee the entire saga consisting of three feature films, of which this project is the second chapter, concluding with Austin Powers in Goldmember. The music is composed by musician and composer George S. Clinton, who had previously collaborated with the director on the first film, Austin Powers – International Man of Mystery, and is the author of the soundtracks for the Mortal Kombat saga.

The protagonist of Austin Powers – The Spy Who Shagged Me is played by Mike Myers, a Canadian actor, comedian, and screenwriter, who became famous thanks to the character of Austin Powers and later for voicing Shrek. Alongside him is the beautiful actress Elizabeth Hurley, with whom Myers had already worked in the first chapter, and the face of Estée Lauder from 1994 to 2001. Austin Powers – The Spy Who Shagged Me is set in 1999 and picks up the story of the funniest spy in showbiz, Austin Powers (Mike Myers), who is on his honeymoon with the stunning Vanessa Kensington (Elizabeth Hurley). Unfortunately, the protagonist discovers that his sweet partner is not a flesh-and-blood human, but rather a robot under the control of Dr. Evil (Mike Myers), his greatest enemy.
After unsuccessfully trying to kill the spy, the robot self-destructs, and Austin suddenly finds himself single again. Meanwhile, Dr. Evil, with the help of his miniature clone Mini-Me (Verne Troyer), hides in his Seattle hideout to organize a new plan: to build an advanced time machine to go back to the 1960s and steal Powers’ magic potion “mojo”, which allows him to be invincible as well as extremely sexy. Austin suddenly discovers that he has lost his powers, so he decides to reach Dr. Evil in 1969, unexpectedly finding himself in his old London apartment. Thanks to the help of special agent Felicity Shagwell (Heather Graham), Powers manages to defeat some of Dr. Evil’s men and capture Mustafa (Will Ferrell), another of his enemy’s henchmen, who reveals to the couple the location of the criminal’s secret base. The protagonist and Agent Shagwell then reach Dr. Evil’s hideout, discovering his terrible and terrifying plan: to take over the world, holding the population hostage with the threat of destroying major urban centers using a super laser that Dr. Evil has placed on the Moon.
