Kerala Blasters fan favorite Ian Hume has taken off his boots. The Canadian actor announced his retirement through a note shared on social media. The star, fondly called Humeton by his fans, has been hanging his boots for more than two years. The 39-year-old coached English club Woodstock City.

In 2014, it became a part of ISL through Kerala Blasters. The player who took the team to the finals in the very first season became the hero of the fans. Hume was also the man of the tournament that day. He has donned the Blasters jersey in 29 matches across two terms. The player also scored 10 goals. Hume also scored the first goal for Blasters in the ISL.

The player left Blasters and joined Atletico de Kolkata. Hume was part of the Kolkata team that won the title in 2016. The actor also played for FC Pune in 2018. Hume scored 25 goals in 62 matches in the ISL.

Hume started his professional football career with English club Tranmere Rovers. The star’s career was at Rovers until he moved to Leicester City in 2005. In 2008, he moved to Barnsley F.C. Hume joins the Blasters from English club Fleetwood FC. The player also hit the ball for Canada. Ian Hume has scored 6 goals in 43 games for the Canadian national team. Canadian football team officials thanked Hume.
