American video game developer Blizzard informed Russian gamers that they will not be able to play Diablo IV as part of the beta test on May 12–14. Earlier, the company sent out invitations, which were also received by Russian players.

In April, Russians with Battle.net accounts received messages offering them the chance to try out the Diablo IV beta from May 12-14 to “test server performance.” In a new message, the company canceled the invitation, writing, “Checking Diablo IV servers will not be available in your country/region.” The game itself is scheduled for release on June 6th.

Earlier, from the published page of the beta version of Diablo IV in the PS Store, it became known that the game will receive Russian voice acting, but Diablo IV will not be officially available in Russia. Blizzard also started untie phone numbers of Russians from the Battle.net service, where most of the company’s games, including Diablo, were available. It is also no longer possible to register new accounts with Russian numbers. The company attributes this to its position on Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.
