Blockade continues in Arco Norte; ejidatarios threaten to stay

For the third consecutive day, ejidatarios of the State of Mexico, Tlaxcala e Hidalgo They maintain the blockade on the highway North Arch, in protest against the lack of payment for the use of their land to build this road. This is the third closure they have carried out in this highway.

The protesters set up camp at the height of kilometer 146, in the section Tulancingo-Pachucawhere guards are kept to prevent vehicles from passing, since this road practically crosses from Puebla to Querétaro.

Using dump trucks, they left several tons of soil in both directions of the asphalt of said road, to prevent the vehicular circulationr.

On the official account of the social network X, the company Arco Norte warned that at 7:00 a.m. As of this Wednesday, the line of vehicles at the Tulancingo toll booth reached two kilometers, so it was recommended to leave at the Sahagun to avoid delays

The ejidatarios demanded an advance on compensation for the lands used for the construction of this highway, which should have been covered at the end of August or beginning of September by the federal authorities, but it never arrived.

They are therefore now demanding full payment for the plots of land that were seized by federal authorities, or else they threaten to remain there.

Just the past August 6, The same peasants carried out a three-day blockade for the same reason.

On that occasion, they stopped the movement in response to promises from the authorities.

In view of the blockage of the Arco Norte Highway, the National Chamber of Cargo Transportation (Canacar) asked the Ministry of the Interior to resolve this situation once and for all.

Its president, Miguel Ángel Martínez Millán, indicated that it is impossible for cargo transport to remain in uncertainty due to constant closures.
