In Moscow, three bloggers were sentenced to three and a half years in a general regime colony each for hijacking a premium taxi. The incident took place in March 2021 near the Moscow City shopping center. The defendants called the incident a hoax.

Ramir Khasanov, Aydin Tusupov and Ersin Dumshebai were convicted of committing a crime under paragraph “a” of Part 2 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hijacking committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy). The Moscow prosecutor’s office reports that they are citizens of one of the neighboring countries.

In March 2021, Khasanov, Tusupov and Dumshebai ordered a premium-class taxi to the Moscow-City shopping center through a mobile application. After the car was handed over, they asked the driver to put the bags with them in the trunk of the car.

“When the victim got out of the car, they got into the car and disappeared in an unknown direction, while one of them was driving the car, the second was filming what was happening with a mobile phone camera from the car, and the third stayed to wait for the accomplices near the shopping center and also filmed what was happening on a camera for the subsequent publication of the video in one of the social networks, ”the Moscow prosecutor’s office said. A few minutes later they returned the car to the victim, explaining that it was a joke.

The Presnensky District Court of Moscow sentenced Ramir Khasanov, Aydin Tusupov and Ersin Dumshebay each to three years and six months in prison with serving a sentence in a general regime correctional colony. The verdict has not entered into legal force.
