The American Bloomberg Agency quoted sources from the oil sector that Libya is preparing tomorrow to restore oil production and open oil fields.
The sources told the agency that it is possible that the country’s oil sector will receive orders to resume production in the coming hours, after the two rival governments in the North African country overcame disputes that caused the flow of oil to stop or be disrupted last month.
In late August, Libya witnessed the closure of oil fields and the declaration of a state of force majeure against the backdrop of the dismissal of the former governor of the friendly Central Bank, which was preceded by orders from the son of the commander of the Dignity Forces, Saddam Haftar, to close the Sharara oil field against the backdrop of the issuance of an arrest warrant against him by the Spanish authorities.
Tension increased over control of the Central Bank after the President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, issued a decision to replace the Governor of the Central Bank, Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir, and the Board of Directors, a move that was rejected by Parliament.
The closure of fields and ports a month ago contributed to the decline in production to less than 450,000 barrels per day due to the cessation of exports from oil ports.
