Bloomberg: Apple may add Face ID to all of its devices

by time news

Apple may add Face ID unlock functionality to all of its devices within two years, Bloomberg reported, citing sources.

Face ID unlock is now available on iPhone (except budget SE) and iPad (except budget Air). In the future, the company will add the feature to Mac computers, the agency writes.

IPhone SE and iPad Air are now equipped with Touch ID fingerprint unlock. As the agency clarifies, Apple does not rule out the introduction of the function in these devices, although Touch ID is a “cheaper” alternative to Face ID with a high level of security.

Face ID works on the principle of a person’s face shape scanner, the function was developed by Apple in 2017. It allows you to unlock your device, make purchases in the iTunes Store, App Store and iBooks Store, select cards for payment in Apple Pay.
