Bloomberg: Apple plans to introduce a new iPhone on September 7

by time news

The American corporation Apple intends to hold a presentation of its new iPhone 14 line on September 7, Bloomberg writes, citing sources.

Apple plans to once again hold a presentation in an online format, as it already did in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. The company usually presents its new lines in the first half of September, but its plans may still change, the agency notes. New items usually start to go on sale a week and a half after the presentation, and this year should not be an exception.

In addition to four iPhone 14 models, which account for more than half of the company’s sales, Apple will introduce three Apple Watch models, several Macs with M2 and M3 chips, an iPad in budget and luxury segments, updated AirPods Pro headphones, and a new HomePod with a possible multi-touch functionality and an updated Apple TV.

As Bloomberg has already reported, the iPhone 14 will receive an updated lock screen, and the developers will implement the always-on-display function, thanks to which widgets with weather, calendar, stock price graph and other data will always be displayed on the screen. The main distinguishing feature of the iPhone 14 Pro will be a significantly improved front camera and an updated 48-megapixel rear camera. The screen of the device will be with thinner bezels and a redesigned tablet-shaped notch for Face ID.

Regular iPhone 14 will remain with the same A15 chip as the 13th model, but will become larger: instead of a 5.4-inch diagonal, the iPhone 14 will receive a 6.7-inch diagonal. All new iPhones will retain Lightning connectors, but Bloomberg analysts expect the company to move to USB-C as early as 2023.
