Manchester United central defender Raphaël Varane, vice-captain of the Blues at the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, announced his international retirement on Thursday.

The central defender and vice-captain of the France team Raphaël Varane (93 selections in blue), world champion in 2018 and finalist of the World Cup-2022 in Qatar, announced Thursday his international retirement, at the age of 29 .

“I’ve been thinking about it for several months, and I’ve decided it’s the right time for me to retire from international football,” the current Manchester United player, who has been with the Blues since 2013, wrote on Instagram.
