This is BMW Group India’s third electric vehicle. BMW has launched its i4 electric sedan in India for Rs. Launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 69.90 lakh. The new BMW i4 is offered in the i4 eDrive40 variant. And this expensive electric sedan is a very long-distance electric vehicle. This is because it is capable of running up to about 590 km on a single charge. This is a very long distance compared to other EVs in India.
Online bookings for the BMW i4 electric sedan have already begun and deliveries will begin in early July 2022. Speaking on the launch, Vikram Bawah, President, BMW Group India, said, “With the launch of the BMW i4, we are pleased to introduce the first electric mid-size sedan in the country.

The BMW i4 gets an excellent sporty look and performance due to the unique combination of BMW eDrive technology, very slim and high voltage lithium-ion battery, rear wheel drive and advanced suspension kinematics. The features that are a part of this handset are quite sophisticated, to say the least.
Electric Power Train & Charging:
This i4 electric car is based on the CLAR framework and is fitted with an 83.9 kWh battery backpack. It is powered by a rear axle-mounted electric motor that produces 340hp and 430Nm, which allows the i4 car to reach 0 – 100kph in just 5.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 190 kph. The i4 comes with the fifth generation BMW eDrive technology.
The electric motor features an integrated drive unit powered by a single-speed transmission and power electronics. As an introductory offer, BMW is also offering the i4 with an 11 kW wallbox charger for installation. This AC charger can charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent in 8.25 hours. The i4’s battery supports both DC fast charging of 50 kW and 205 kW.
The former can charge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in 83 minutes, while charging in just 18 minutes can go up to 100 km. As for the 205 kW DC charger, it can charge the battery from 10 percent to 80 percent in 31 minutes, while providing a range of 164 km on just 10 minutes of charging.
Exterior Design:
The i4 car is based on the new generation 4 Series, but the styling has been changed with the EV Kidney grille and LED headlamps surrounding the BMW badge. However it retains the signature coupe roofline of the 4 Series. This car comes with L-shaped LED taillights. The car is available in three color options: Mineral White, Black Sapphire and Skyscraper Gray.
Interior Design:
The BMW i4 electric sedan car has a sophisticated dual-screen setup inside the cabin. These include a free-flowing 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital driver display embedded with the latest i-Drive 8 user surface.
