The president of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), Aloizio Mercadante, said this Tuesday, the 27th, that the bank will issue another US$ 750 million in loans for agribusiness. In a press conference, the former Minister of the Civil House spoke of resuming the bank’s international financing, which does not put pressure on the Treasury, and revealed negotiations with the IDB, JICA, KFW and the Brics bank in this regard.
“It doesn’t put pressure on the Treasury, it doesn’t put pressure on the primary surplus, it doesn’t need resources to equalize. Agriculture exports US$ 160 billion, a large part of agriculture has receivables in dollars. When you receive in dollars, you are protected in a line indexed to the dollar”, said the president of BNDES in a press conference after the launching ceremony of the Safra Plan.
Mercadante announced that he is going to travel to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, with an eye on sovereign wealth funds to bring more funding to the country. Among the resources sought, BRL 43 billion for infrastructure, with part of that for logistics in public-private partnerships.
