Bnei Brak: Wounded and detained during a demonstration in front of a cell phone store

At least five young people were arrested for demonstrating against a cell phone store in the center of Bnei Brak The store door was smashed and three were injured, including two children as young as 9 years old

More than a hundred young people are demonstrating tonight (Tuesday) in front of a cell phone store on Rabbi Akiva Street in the center of Bnei Brak. Earlier, protesters managed to smash the store door, causing extensive damage. The store’s cameras were also destroyed. Three were injured as a result of glass shards, including two children as young as 9. Police made arrests. So far at least five have been taken for questioning at the police station.

Police forces and YSM fighters are working there to restore public order. Due to the protest, Rabbi Akiva Street was blocked to traffic from Hazon Ish Street.

It will be recalled that the demonstrations against the cellular shops have recently faded, after an indictment was filed against the Superintendent of the Rabbinical Committee for Communications for extortion and conducting the demonstrations. His trial is currently underway and his detention has been extended until the end of the proceedings.
