After two and a half years as a legionnaire, Dor Hugi returns to Israeli football. Bnei Sakhnin announced this evening (Monday) the signing of the striker until the end of the season, while it also holds the option to continue the contract next season as well. Hogi will try to help Kobi’s team, which hasn’t won ten league games already, to get into the top playoffs when it is currently four points away from the top 6 and only one point from the red line.
A few days ago Hogi was already close to joining Beitar Jerusalem in place of Stav Nachmani who was leaving, but the bitter rival of the Jerusalemites “kidnapped” him. Sakhnin will be the 27-year-old striker’s seventh stop in Israeli football, after his youth team Maccabi Haifa, Hapoel Petah Tikva , Maccabi Petah Tikva, Hapoel Ra’anana, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Ramat Gan.
The striker went abroad in the summer of 2020 and signed with St. Polten of the top league in Austria, but was relegated to the minor league with them and left. From there, the Israeli moved to Wisla Krakow, and also with it in the first season he was relegated to the second division with the Polish luxury club. This season, Hogi managed to make eight appearances in the minor league in Poland and score once.
