Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that the complete shutdown program was announced when the general students and the people of the country were reassured by the Prime Minister’s speech. By capitalizing on this program, the BNP-Jamaat evil forces are running the steps of creating terror and anarchy across the country.
He said that since the beginning, the terrorist cadres of Chhatra Dal and Shibir have been trying to divert the students’ movement to different sectors. Now they have indulged in a deep conspiracy to destabilize the situation through mass terror and anarchy.
He made this comment in a statement on Wednesday (July 17) night.
In the statement, Obaidul Quader called upon the people of the country from all levels of the country and Bangladesh Awami League’s leaders and supporters at all levels to build a united resistance against the terrorist activities of the BNP-Jamaat evil forces by capitalizing on the students’ movement and to support the law enforcement forces.
Awami League General Secretary said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her address to the nation in the evening urged everyone to be patient and tolerant. At the same time, he urged the students to be patient till the verdict of the High Court is announced and expressed optimism saying ‘I believe, our students will get justice from the High Court. They need not be disappointed.’
He said, ‘Prime Minister Komalmati has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the unexpected loss of life due to the terror and anarchic situation created by the BNP-Jamaat evil forces capitalizing on the students’ movement. He also announced the formation of a judicial investigation committee against terrorism and violence.
Obaidul Quader said, ‘A few fresh lives have already been lost as a result of BNP-Jamaat’s destructive apolitical politics by capitalizing on the students’ movement. We want to make it clear that no one will be allowed to capitalize on the Complete Shutdown program to create terror and violence. Any action that compromises the safety of public life and property will not be tolerated.’
“The leaders and activists of Bangladesh Awami League and all allied organizations will be on the streets to build strong resistance against any kind of terrorist activities with people from all walks of life.”
In the statement, he said, ‘I call upon all patriotic citizens to be aware and alert against the terrorist activities of BNP-Jamaat evil forces. We request the law enforcement agencies to take strict legal action against any misbehavior of this terrorist group. At the same time, I am giving organizational instructions to Bangladesh Awami League leaders and supporters at all levels to provide cooperation in the security of people’s lives and property from the streets.
